In plain words
Saṃsāra is a maddened bull elephant, and its trunk has already come down on me — my body is being crushed under the blow. You who end every affliction: the breath is on its way out and the terror of being born again has me completely undone. Lakṣmī-Nṛsiṃha, give me your hand to hold.
Close to the Sanskrit
Of me, whose body is being crushed by the blow of the trunk of the lordly elephant that is terrifying saṃsāra — O destroyer of all affliction — of me overwhelmed by the fear of the departure of the life-breath and of birth again: O Lakṣmī-Nṛsiṃha, give me the support of your hand.
