She who dwells upon the central peak of Mount Sumeru is none other than this supreme presence. Salutations to her whose home is the auspicious mountain. She is Kamanīyā, the supremely lovely one, because her very essence is unalloyed bliss, making her the dearest object of the human heart. As the Upanishad asks: 'Who could ever breathe if this expanse of space were not joy itself?' Just as worldly pleasures naturally attract every desire, she delights the soul by granting fulfillment to those veiled in illusion, showering grace upon those devoted to their chosen paths, and charming all by fulfilling every spiritual aspiration. She is the very form of crystallized bliss perceived by enlightened sages. Salutations to the lovely one. She is Kalāvatī, the mistress of all arts and limbs, whether understood as physical features, the sixty-four traditional sciences, or the digits of the moon, all of which eternally rest within her for the contemplation of her devotees. Salutations to the possessor of all arts. She is Kamalākṣī, the lotus-eyed one, who washes away all impurities, an endless ocean of compassionate nectar, dwelling within the fragrant kadamba groves and cherishing its blossoms. Her eyes, lovely as lotuses, symbolize supreme intuitive awareness and stand as the divine source of all material and spiritual prosperity.

Lovely: because she is of the nature of supreme bliss she is the supreme object of love; who indeed would breathe, if this space were not bliss? according to the shruti. Like the fact that happiness is captivating and thus the object of all desires, she is lovely because she grants happiness to those enveloped by maya, and because of extreme love for their chosen deities she is lovely by granting the fruit to those engaging in her worship, or because she is captivating through having a beautiful form that is the densification of bliss for the wise. Om, salutations to the lovely one. Possessor of arts: arts are limbs like the head and hands, or sixty-four arts, or forms of knowledge, or lunar digits; since these belong to her for the meditation of devotees, she is Kalavati. Om, salutations to the possessor of arts. Lotus-eyed, destroyer of impurities, ocean of the nectar of compassion, dwelling in the kadamba forest, fond of kadamba flowers. Lotus-eyed: she whose two eyes are like two lotuses, thus. Or knowledge caused by that is indicated by the word 'eye' of Kamala (Lakshmi), because she possesses that through the relation of being an object. Or she whose two eyes are the cause of worldly and otherworldly prosperity of Kamala - thus her own gaze...
