The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Mohamudgaraḥ

Verse 12

In plain words

Day and night, dusk and dawn, winter and spring — round they come again. Time is playing a game; your life is walking out the door. And still the wind of wanting will not let go of you.

Close to the Sanskrit

Day and night, evening and dawn, winter and spring come round again; Time plays on, life goes out — and even so, the wind of desire does not let go.
