In plain words

This saṃsāra comes with birth, with burning pain, with disease, and it is loud with the crying of the three afflictions. And here I am: tied down, tied tight, and tied without a break, by ropes that glitter—son, wife, wealth. Pride has blinded me. A whole heap of wrongdoing accompanies me. Turn your compassionate glance this way, all-pervading Lord. Śrī Mṛtyuñjaya, beloved of Pārvatī, guard me always, Lord of all.
