In plain words

They hand a divine inheritance to the lowliest fish sunk in your water; in this Kali age they are the chief of every sacred crossing, lifting off the whole flooded weight of impurity. O joy of the fish and the turtles, the crocodiles and the wheeling ruddy geese — I bow to your lotus feet, goddess Narmadā.

Close to the Sanskrit

Bestowing divine lineage upon the lowly fish merged in your water; in the Kali age, chief of all sacred fords, carrying away the burden of the flood of impurity — O giver of joy to the flock of fine fish, turtles, crocodiles and ruddy geese, I bow to your lotus feet, O goddess Narmadā.
