The moment I beheld your sacred waters, my fear was gone—waters forever revered by the great ones. O Narmadā, who shields us from the suffering of the ocean of worldly becoming, I bow to your lotus feet.

My fear departed at that very moment when your water was beheld, ever revered by the son of Mṛkaṇḍu, Śaunaka and the foe of demons. O giver of protection from the suffering of the ocean of becoming, I bow to your lotus feet, O Goddess Narmadā.
