In plain words
The circle of the earth is her footstool, resting on the jewels of the great coiled serpent who carries that whole weight. The ocean is the jewelled belt around her waist; the wheel of fire is her body. The wind that carries water's essence hangs at her ears, the sky is her crown, and her very nature is Paramātmā — the Supreme Self. The moon and the sun are her beautiful eyes. In my mind I hold her — the Goddess beyond all.
Close to the Sanskrit
Her whose pedestal is the circle of the earth, set upon the gems of the lord of coiled serpents who bears the immense burden; whose body is the orb of fire, the mass of waters being her encircling jewelled girdle; whose earrings are the carrier of water's essence, whose crest is the sky, and whose nature is Paramātmā — the Supreme Self; whose lovely eyes are the moon and the sun — that Supreme Goddess I contemplate in my mind.
