In plain words
Her hair is ink and midnight, and at its tips the curls hang like a thronging swarm of blessed bees — she shines with them. The jasmine in the coiled garland at the peak of her topknot is her own fragrance. Her lotus-face steals the heart, its round cheeks sweetened by the jewels at her ears. Kālikā, mistress of everything, the supreme deity — I hold her in my mind.
Close to the Sanskrit
Her who shines with the auspicious dense bees at the tips of tresses dark as blackness and gloom; her whose fragrance is the sweet jasmine-scent of the circling garland at the peak of her crest; her whose lotus-face is heart-stealing with cheek-orbs made sweet by earrings — Kālikā, mistress of all, the supreme deity, I contemplate in my mind.
