The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Nirvāṇaṣaṭkam

Verse 5

In plain words

There is no death for me, and no dread of it. No caste, no father, no mother, no being born at all. No relatives, no friends, no teacher, no student. I am awareness itself, and it is whole: I am Śiva, I am Śiva.

Close to the Sanskrit

There is no death, no fear of it, no distinction of birth for me; no father indeed is mine, no mother, no birth. No kinsman, no friend, no teacher indeed, no disciple. Of the nature of consciousness and bliss, I am Śiva, I am Śiva.
