Consciousness is reflected in just that way in the intellect, and there it takes on the look of a living self. From there it goes out along the roads of the eye and the other senses and lights up the objects outside.

The reflection of Consciousness, in that same manner, which in the intellects has attained the state of being a jīva — that one illumines the external objects by the paths of the sense-organs beginning with the eye.
