In the third case too: everyone has a son; and when he is set free, the round of birth and death goes on all the same, while hearing and the rest — the whole set of means — turn out to be a lie.

All, indeed, are possessors of a son; upon his liberation, transmigration [still] occurs; and hearing and the rest, the means, would be false — in the third [alternative] too.
