। ॥ ६० ॥
In plain words
The tongue keeps telling lies and slandering others, moment after moment — but what does the other person actually lose, and what does the speaker gain from it? For nothing, the speaker himself just piles up an enormous weight of sin.
Close to the Sanskrit
The tongue speaks falsehood and slander of others every moment; by that, what harm comes to the other, and what gain is there for the speaker? In vain, the person becomes exceedingly burdened with sin.
