In plain words

When the things people chase strike you as unbearable, the way a crow's droppings do — that revulsion is virakti at full intensity. And the wise say only one thing makes dispassion that sharp: looking straight at the objects of enjoyment and seeing what is actually wrong with them.

Close to the Sanskrit

That attitude of unbearableness toward objects of enjoyment, as toward the excrement of a crow — that is held to be intense dispassion. The wise declare the root cause of the intensity of dispassion to be, in objects of enjoyment, the seeing of defect alone.
