। ॥ ५८ ॥

In plain words

Desire — kāma, that vast spinner of worlds — sets himself up inside the mind and works from there in person. He takes a woman and a man and makes each one dazzling to the other, quite openly: the lines of a body, a laugh, a look that says everything. Out of his own native darkness he fogs them both, ties them together with the knot of love, and sets them turning; and with every turn the built-up world swells larger. Desire is the killer of brahman.

Close to the Sanskrit

Desire indeed, the great whirler of the world, having himself taken his stand in the inner organ, clearly bewildering woman and man toward one another by each other's bodily attractions, by smiles and by expressive gestures, and having bound those two with the tie of love through his own native darkness, whirls them about, swelling the fabrication of the manifest world — he, the slayer of brahman.
