। ॥ ६६ ॥

In plain words

If you want to conquer desire, kill the idea — right there in the thing you enjoy, right there in the sense-object — that it is pleasure. As long as the mind keeps mistaking an object for pleasure, it has no power at all to conquer desire.

Close to the Sanskrit

A man desirous of the conquest of desire should strike down this notion of pleasantness in the object of enjoyment, in the sense-object. As long as the deluded thought of pleasantness remains in the thing, for just so long he has indeed no power to conquer desire.
