। ॥ ६८८ ॥
In plain words
That whole set of elements that has not yet been quintuplicated — and rajas, tamas and sattva along with them — is, in its own true nature, nothing but the unmanifest. And this unmanifest, with the reflected consciousness shining in it, is itself the same.
Close to the Sanskrit
That aggregate of un-quintuplicated elements too, together with the qualities rajas, tamas and sattva, becomes, from the standpoint of its own nature, the unmanifest alone; and this unmanifest, along with its reflection, is so itself as well.
