। ॥ ८४९ ॥

In plain words

The kleśas are nothing but the vāsanās — the impressions left behind in you, and they are what causes a being's birth and all that follows it. Burn them in the fire of steady abidance in knowledge, and they can no longer cause a single birth.

Close to the Sanskrit

The afflictions are indeed the vāsanās; for a creature they are the cause of birth and the rest. When they are burnt by the fire of steady abidance in knowledge, there is no birth-causing power in them.
