In plain words
See the vast tree of Saṃsāra for what it is: rooted in Karma and bearing birth and death from beginning through middle to end. Delusion, pride, delight and sorrow crowd its leaves; Kāma, Krodha and their kin form its branches; sons, cattle, wives and daughters nest there like birds. Cut it down with the sword of Asaṅga, nonattachment, and let the keen mind contemplate Vāsudeva everywhere.
Close to the Sanskrit
In beginning, middle and end, the vast tree of Saṃsāra gives the fruits of birth and death and is rooted in Karma. Know its many leaves as delusion, pride, joy and grief; its branches as Kāma, Krodha and the rest; and its flocks of birds as sons, cattle, wives and daughters. Cutting it completely with the sword of Asaṅga, nonattachment, the keen-minded one should contemplate Vāsudeva on every side.
