In plain words

Long ago the Brāhmaṇa Subandhu, a royal chaplain, was killed by Sanāti's deceitful hostile rite. His mind travelled to the realm of Death, but his brother brought it back with mantras of Śruti; so a Vedic hymn declares. It is therefore the mind joined to the person that journeys, never Antarātma, the inner Self.
