In plain words

A brief pleasure follows sexual union while the mind is gathered into a single taste. In Suṣupti, deep sleep, happiness remains for as long as that stillness lasts. In Mukti, liberation, the quiet heart knows Nityānanda, bliss without end. Because happiness accompanies steadiness, every pleasure of sense is only a small measure of Nityānanda.

Close to the Sanskrit

As happiness at the end of sexual union lasts for a moment while Manas is held to one taste, and unsurpassable happiness lasts in Suṣupti, deep sleep, only so long as steadiness lasts, in Mukti there is Nityānanda—eternal bliss—in the pacified heart. Happiness thus accompanies steadiness; sense pleasure may therefore be called a mere measure of Nityānanda.
