In plain words
The good-hearted gather at the ocean of the Vedas, take the mind at full stretch for a churning-staff, wind it with the rope of unshakable devotion, and reverently churn — and then they draw up Soma, Śiva who holds Umā; the tree that gives whatever is asked; the wish-cow of the gods; the wish-gem of the wise; the nectar of bliss that never runs out; the unbroken fortune of Lakṣmī.
Close to the Sanskrit
The hosts of the good-minded, having with reverence made the fully risen mind into a churning-staff fitted with the rope of firm devotion, and having then churned the ocean of the Vedas, bring forth Soma — Śiva with Umā — the wish-tree, the wish-cow of the gods, the wish-gem of the wise, the nectar of eternal bliss, and the unbroken good fortune of Lakṣmī.
