। ॥ ४२ ॥

In plain words

Depth of character digs the moat. Fortitude, solid all the way through, raises the rampart. The rising ranks of virtue are the loyal army. The senses, massed and set into this body, are the gates. Knowledge fills the storehouse. Every last thing a fortress needs is already here — so, Lord who loves Durgā, Lord who loves a stronghold, move into the fortress of my mind and stay.

Close to the Sanskrit

Depth holds the place of the moat; solid fortitude is the rampart wall; and the host of rising virtues is the loyal army; the dense array of the senses, standing in the body, are the gates; the abundant store of the treasure of knowledge — thus, in a stronghold furnished with every requisite, O God to whom Durgā (and a fortress) is exceedingly dear, always make your dwelling in the fortress of my mind.
