। ॥ ६२ ॥
In plain words
Devotion is a mother, and the devotee is her infant. She bathes him in tears of joy and wraps him in the clean cloth of skin gone thrilled and bristling. She fills his little belly with the nectar of your deeds, poured through the conch-spout of speech. She strings rudrākṣa beads on him and smears him with sacred ash to keep his body safe, O God. Then she lays him down in the cradle of thinking of you — and there she watches over him.
Close to the Sanskrit
With tears of joy she spreads out horripilation as the clean cloth covering that [body]; and with the nectars of [your] deeds, resting by means of speech in the mouth of the conch, [she brings about] the filling of the belly; with rudrākṣa beads and with sacred ash, O God, [she brings about] the protection of the body — and having laid [him] down on the couch of contemplation of you, the mother Devotion guards the devotee-infant.
