। ॥ ७२ ॥
In plain words
Meditation is the salve they line their eyes with; by it they make out the exact pocket of darkness. They break it open with lavish offerings and with mantras that are only your names. And out of it they lift what the gods themselves hold on to, the thing wreathed in serpents — your lotus foot. O Śiva, those people, here, in this life, are the ones who got what they came for.
Close to the Sanskrit
Having thoroughly discerned the region of darkness by means of the collyrium of meditation, having split it open with great offerings and with mantras that are the names of the Lord, those who here lift up your lotus-foot — resorted to by the celestials, ornamented with serpents — they, O Śiva, are the ones whose purpose is accomplished.
