। ॥ ९६ ॥
In plain words
My heart is an elephant in rut. Take the goad of steadiness, Destroyer of the three cities, haul it in fast and without a sound, chain it with devotion, tether it to the post of your feet — and lock it there with the shackles of pure awareness.
Close to the Sanskrit
With the goad of steadiness, having dragged it in firmly and swiftly by the chain of devotion — O Destroyer of the cities — bind the rut-maddened elephant of my heart at the tethering-post of your feet, with the fetters of consciousness.
