। ॥ ११ ॥
In plain words
Śaṅkara is dear to the heart, known through Vedānta, and luminous in the heart's lotus with an ever-rising light. He is real; peace is his Svarūpa, his essential nature; only the lotus-grove of all the sages' minds can know him. In Jāgrat—waking, Svapna—dream, and Suṣupti—deep sleep, he remains free of the three Guṇas, the qualities of nature—yet I do not remember him. Forgive my offense: Śiva, Śiva, Śiva, O Śrī Mahādeva, Śambhu.
Close to the Sanskrit
Dear to the heart, knowable through Vedānta, blazing in the heart-lotus with rising radiance; real, whose Svarūpa—essential nature—is peace; alone knowable in the lotus-grove of all sages' minds; in Jāgrat—waking, Svapna—dream, and Suṣupti—deep sleep, free from the three Guṇas—the qualities of nature—Śaṅkara I do not remember. My offense is to be forgiven: Śiva, Śiva, Śiva, O Śrī Mahādeva, Śambhu.
