। ॥ १५ ॥

In plain words

Life drains away before our eyes; youth wears down a little more each day. The days that are gone never return—Time is eating the world. Lakṣmī, the fortune of this world, is as fickle as a wave breaking on water; life flickers like lightning. So I have come to you as a Śaraṇāgata—one who has taken refuge. Out of compassion, protect me—protect me now.

Close to the Sanskrit

Life perishes before the eyes of those who watch; day by day youth goes to decay; days once gone do not come back again; Time is the devourer of the world. Lakṣmī—worldly fortune—is as unsteady as the breaking of a wave on water; life flickers like lightning. Therefore, out of compassion, protect, protect me now, a Śaraṇāgata—one who has taken refuge in you.
