The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Svātmaprakāśikā

Verse 16

In plain words

Set poison and nectar side by side, and anyone with sense looks at both and puts the poison down. You have seen the ātman now. So put down the anātman — and put it down in earnest.

Close to the Sanskrit

Having seen poison, having seen nectar, the intelligent man abandons the poison. Having seen the Self also, you — abandon the not-Self, earnestly.
