The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Svātmaprakāśikā

Verse 43

In plain words

Being complete, changeless, and utterly pure, He is the supreme Lord. Yet attributing lordship to Him in the realm of māyā—where insentience prevails—is truly incoherent.

Close to the Sanskrit

Because of fullness, because of changelessness, because of absolute purity, the supreme lord. Due to the cause of inertness, lordship in māyā is indeed difficult to maintain.
