युवा प्रथमवया, साधुयुवेति साधुश्चासौ युवा चेति यूनो विशेषणम्, युवाप्यसाधुर्भवति सा-धुरप्ययुवा, अतो विशेषण युवा स्यात्साधुयुवेति, अध्या-यक अधीतवेद ।आशिष्ठ आशास्तृतम , दृढिष्ठ दृढ-तम , बलिष्ठ बलवत्तम , एवमाध्यात्मिकसाधनसम्पन्न ।तस्येय पृथिवी उर्वी सर्वा वित्तस्य वित्तेनोपभोगसाधनेनदृष्टार्थेनादृष्टार्थेन च कर्मसाधनेन सम्पन्ना पूर्णा राजा पृथि-वीपतिरित्यर्थ ।तस्य च य आनन्द , स एक मानुष मनु-ष्याणा प्रकृष्ट एक आनन्द ।ते ये शत मानुषा आनन्दा ,

'A youth in the prime of life, a good youth'—the phrase 'sādhuyuvā' qualifies a young person, for youth can exist without virtue and virtue without youth, hence the combined term. An adhyāyaka is one who has mastered the Vedas. Āśiṣṭha means supreme in blessing, dṛḍhiṣṭha supremely steadfast, baliṣṭha supremely strong; thus is he equipped with inner spiritual means. For him, this vast earth is fully endowed with wealth for enjoyment, attained through visible means and through unseen ritual actions; he is a king, the lord of the earth. A youth in the prime of life, a good youth, thus [the words] 'sādhuyuvā' mean that youth is a qualification, [since] a youth can be unvirtuous and a virtuous person can be non-youthful, hence the qualification 'youth must be [combined with] virtuous youth', adhyāyaka [means] one who has studied the Veda; āśiṣṭha is most blessing, dṛḍhiṣṭha is most firm, baliṣṭha is most strong, thus equipped with spiritual disciplines. Of him this earth is vast, completely filled with wealth by means of enjoyment through visible purpose and through unseen purpose by means of ritual action, prosperous, a king, ruler of the earth, is the meaning.
