In plain words
Smṛti speaks in harmony with the Lakṣaṇas given by Śruti. It shows that Paramātman never enters Saṃsāra and that nothing is other than it: 'It is not born, nor does it die'; 'It takes on no one's sin'; 'As it abides forever in Ākāśa'; 'Know me also as Kṣetrajña, the knower of the field'; 'It is called neither existent nor non-existent'; 'Beginningless and free from Guṇas'; 'Equal in every being'; and 'The highest Puruṣa is other.'
Close to the Sanskrit
And by Smṛtis: 'It is not born, nor does it die'; 'It takes on no one's sin'; 'As it abides forever in Ākāśa'; 'Know me also as Kṣetrajña, the knower of the field'; 'That is called neither existent nor non-existent'; 'Being beginningless and free from Guṇas'; 'Equal in all beings'; 'The highest Puruṣa, however, is other.' Such Smṛtis do not contradict the Lakṣaṇas stated by Śruti; they establish that Paramātman does not undergo Saṃsāra and that nothing is other than it.
