In plain words
If cognition is nothing but the shape of the thing outside it, and lasts a single instant, then memory can never occur at all. And a mind that perishes the moment it arises lays down no impression — nowhere, never.
Close to the Sanskrit
Since cognition has only the form of the external, and because of the instant, there is always absence of memory; and because of momentariness the intellect deposits no impression at all, anywhere.
