I am the witness of my own thoughts as they move — and in exactly the same way, of the thoughts moving in everyone else. I cannot be taken away, nor can I be added. So I am other than all of it.

Just as [I am] the witness of the movements of my intellect, likewise also in [the case of] others; [I] can neither be removed nor taken on — therefore I am indeed beyond.
