Verse 144

तेनाभूद्धतचेताः सन्निःश्रीकश्च शचीपते ।ततस्तमहमुद्विग्नमवोचं भयपीडितम् ॥

In plain words

That broke his mind, Indra, and left him with no splendour at all. So then I spoke to him — shaken as he was, and in the grip of fear.

Close to the Sanskrit

By that he became one whose mind was shattered, and being also devoid of splendour, O husband of Śacī — thereupon I spoke to him, agitated and tormented by fear.
