In plain words
For those who yearn for liberation, He is the ultimate object of knowledge because He alone is worthy to be known. Because He knows all forms of knowledge, He is the supreme Knower. Because His true nature always shines forth unhindered, He is the eternal Yogi. To protect the cosmic order, He strikes down the mighty forces of darkness; hence He is the Slayer of Heroes. He is Madhava, the master of both illusion and higher knowledge, as the Harivamsa declares: 'Since cosmic illusion belongs to Hari and you are its lord, you are named Madhava.' Just as honey brings supreme sweetness, He brings supreme joy; thus He is Madhu. Because He is untouched by sound and gross elements, transcending all sensory perception as the Upanishads proclaim, He is beyond the senses. Because He weaves cosmic illusion even for those who practice it, He is the Great Illusionist, echoing His own words in the Gita that His Maya is hard to cross. Because He is ever active in creating, sustaining, and withdrawing the universe, He possesses boundless zeal. And because His strength surpasses that of the mightiest beings, He is the Lord of Supreme Power.
Close to the Sanskrit
By those desiring liberation because of being worthy of being known, He is Vedya. Because of being the knower of all branches of knowledge, He is Vaidya. Because of the constant manifestation of His essential nature, He is Sadāyogī. To protect righteousness, because He slays valiant demons, He is Vīrahā. He is Madhava as the lord of Maya and Vidya; thus it is stated in the Harivamsa: 'Since Maya is declared to be of Hari and you are its lord, therefore you are named Madhava, dhava meaning master.' Just as honey produces supreme delight, He also does so, thus Madhu. Because of being devoid of sound and other attributes, according to the Shruti 'soundless and touchless', He is beyond the senses, thus Atīndriya. Because He creates illusion even among illusionists, He is Mahāmāya, from the divine statement 'My Maya is difficult to overcome.' Because He is zealous for the creation, sustenance, and dissolution of the universe, He is Mahotsāha. Because He possesses greater strength than even the powerful, He is Mahābala.
