The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Viṣṇusahasranāmastotram

Verse 56

वासुदेवे मनो यस्य जपहोमार्चनादिषु ।तस्यान्तरायो मैत्रेय देवेन्द्रत्वादिकं फलम् ॥

In plain words

O Maitreya, for one whose mind rests in Vāsudeva through repetition of names, oblations, and worship, even heavenly attainments like the status of Indra are merely obstacles on the spiritual path.

Close to the Sanskrit

Whose mind is in Vāsudeva in japa, homa, worship, etc., for him, O Maitreya, an obstacle is the fruit starting with the state of Indra.
