। - ॥ १६४ ॥

In plain words

As long as even a learned person clings to this sense of 'I' -- born purely of confusion, pinned onto a body and senses that were never really the Self at all -- liberation is not even a topic worth raising for him, no matter how thoroughly he has studied and grasped the conclusions of Vedanta.

Close to the Sanskrit

As long as the learned person does not give up the sense of 'I'-ness -- arisen from delusion, projected onto the body, senses, and so on, which do not exist as the Self -- so long there is not even talk of liberation for him, even though he may be one who has seen the conclusion of the doctrine of Vedanta.
