And that realization comes only by clearly telling apart the Self from what is not the Self. So this is the work: learn to distinguish your real, innermost Self from the unreal self you've been mistaking for it.

That is accomplished only through correct discrimination between the Self and the non-Self. Therefore discrimination between the inmost Self and the unreal self must be undertaken.
