In plain words

'Not this, not this' — because none of it was ever more than a projection, no truer than a snake you thought you saw on a rope in dim light, no truer than a dream. Once you have carefully reasoned this seen world away, what remains to be known is the single reality those two words were pointing to all along.

Close to the Sanskrit

'Not this, not this' — because it is [merely] superimposed, not real, like a snake seen on a rope, and like a dream. Having thus properly negated, through reasoning, the perceived [world], the oneness of those two which [truly is] should afterward be known.
