Verse 247

। ॥ २४७ ॥

In plain words

'Now, then — here is the teaching' — with these words, scripture itself strips away the pair of ideas we had projected onto Brahman. Guided by reasoning scripture itself backs, this is how you clear both notions away.

Close to the Sanskrit

'Now, therefore, [comes] the teaching [neti neti]' — thus the Śruti itself negates the duality superimposed on Brahman. By reasoning sanctioned by the authority of the Śruti, the negation of those two [notions] is to be carried out in this manner.
