In plain words
Solitude quiets the senses; self-mastery reins in the mind; and a deep inner stillness is what finally dissolves the 'I'-notion itself. Do this, and the steady, unshaken taste of Brahman's own bliss becomes the yogi's constant experience. So the sage must constantly work with deliberate effort to bring the mind to rest.
Close to the Sanskrit
Dwelling in solitude is the cause for the cessation of the senses; self-control is the means for the restraint of the mind; through tranquility the 'I'-notion should be brought to dissolution. By that, the unwavering experience of Brahmic bliss always belongs to the yogi; therefore the restraint of the mind alone must be constantly undertaken with effort by the sage.
