In plain words
Giving things up on the inside and giving them up on the outside both only mean something for someone who is genuinely dispassionate. And that person lets go of attachment in both places — inside and out — for one reason alone: the longing to be free.
Close to the Sanskrit
Internal renunciation and external renunciation are fitting only for the dispassionate one; the dispassionate one, indeed, abandons attachment both within and without, out of desire for liberation.
