The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Yogatārāvalī

Verse 19

In plain words

Mind and senses held in check over long years, the traffic of the breath brought to rest — and the masters of restraint sit like lamp-flames in a windless room: not a limb stirring, awareness sunk clean under into manonmanī.

Close to the Sanskrit

By the long restraint of mind and senses, when the moving of the breath has been quieted, the lords among the self-restrained, like lamps in a windless place, with unmoving limbs, become those whose awareness is sunk in manonmanī.
