The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Yogatārāvalī

Verse 25

In plain words

When looking inward grows so overwhelming that the old traces of a whole past simply take flight, something dawns in a person that has no name: a sleep with no dullness anywhere in it, letting go of every thought of this spread-out world as it comes.

Close to the Sanskrit

By the surpassing abundance of inward reflection on the Self, in persons — the ancient traces having fled — there may come forth some indescribable sleep without dullness, casting away all thought of the manifold world.
