In plain words

Food, drink and other things are loved because they serve as means to happiness. Do not therefore imagine that the Self too is merely a means to some separate bliss. If you place the Self alongside other instruments of pleasure, what is that other bliss, who would experience it, and would there then have to be two selves—one enjoyed and one enjoying?
