Those who have reached the first three grounds but die before attaining the fourth rise to higher states and, upon rebirth, gradually resume the path until liberation is reached; they do not fall back into deluded becoming. The difficult thing, dear one, is to gain the first ground. Once that gateway is truly gained, liberation itself is as good as gained.
