In plain words
The body is inert, like a thing of clay, and the sense 'I' does not belong to it. Therefore I am not the body, since in sleep, where the body is not, the being of the Self is established. For those who abide in the Self, having seen with clear understanding who this 'I' is that is bound up with that notion, and whence it comes, Aruṇācala Śiva, full, shines of Himself as 'He am I', as a shining forth.
Word for word
The body, like a thing of clay, is inert by nature; the notion 'I' is not its; therefore I am not that, because in sleep, where that is absent, the being of the Self is established. Who is this 'I', bound up with the notion, and whence? Having seen this with excellent understanding, for those established in the Self, 'He am I', as a shining forth, Aruṇācala Śiva, full, shines of Himself.
