Question and answer 2
In plain words
And what does it actually mean, to enquire into what you really are?
It happens naturally to everyone. Out of experiences like 'I went, I came, I stayed, I did', doesn't some awareness called 'I' show up first, before the very deeds through which those experiences come about? Enquire into what that awareness really is, by the enquiry 'Who am I', and be yourself. That being yourself is what is meant by enquiring into and knowing your own real nature.
Word for word
To enquire into and know one's own real nature — what is meant by saying that?
It arises naturally for everyone: does not, from experiences such as 'I went, I came, I stayed, I did', a certain awareness called 'I' appear, first, prior to the deeds proper to the occurring of those very experiences? Enquiring into the real form of that awareness (by the enquiry 'Who am I') — the very being-as-oneself [that results] is what is called enquiring into and knowing one's own real nature.
