In plain words
And so: Homage, O Bhava, to You, Śaṃbhu, who through devotion become liberation for men, who through remembrance protect them, and who through praise give in becoming the good that leads to non-becoming. O ‘Bhava’! ‘To You’, that is, to You, ‘Śaṃbhu’, be ‘homage’. Of what kind? To Him who ‘becomes liberation’ for men marked by ‘devotion’, that is, who shines forth in the form of liberation, which is oneness with His own spreading forth. Likewise to Him who ‘protects’ those marked by ‘remembrance’, that is, who guards them from all fears. Likewise to Him who, with ‘praise’, that is, a hymn, as the cause, as for Upamanyu, Marutta and others, ‘gives in becoming’, that is, in saṃsāra, ‘the good’, that is, the highest good whose form is the wealth of enjoyment, ‘for non-becoming’, that is, for the sake of non-becoming; the meaning is: who grants enjoyment that ends in liberation.
