In plain words
And therefore it is devotion alone, the devotion that belongs to You, who are such and have every power, that is the cause of whatever is desired: so he says: For the divine eye of knowledge, blinded by the mala of the disease that is māyā, devotion to You, O Lord, is the supreme salve to make it free of mala. Māyā itself is the ‘disease’, that is, the sickness; the ‘mala’ made by it is the covering; ‘blinded’ by that, that is, with its prakāśa veiled; ‘divine’, that is, beyond the world; ‘the eye of knowledge’, that is, the eye that is the full spreading forth: for this, only devotion to You is the supreme ‘salve’, ‘to make it free of mala’, that is, in the matter of opening one's own form.
